Inspired by Dion, I decided to took this “Get to know yourself better” test. It’s certainly different than Jung Typology Test, but what interest me most is how this personality test try to draw a relation between our imagination and our view of the world, education, love and commitment :) 

Personally, I think Jung’s better, probably because it offer complex explanation. Complex ==> hard to understand => convincing. That’s what happen to me all the time hahaha. Anyways, I think the result I got was quite accurate, but I got the feeling maybe ‘coz they are kinda general and can fit most people. But who am I to judge, let’s leave that to the expert. Here’s mine:

Your view on yourself: You are down-to-earth and people like you because you are so straightforward. You are an efficient problem solver because you will listen to both sides of an argument before making a decision that usually appeals to both parties. The type of girlfriend/boyfriend you are looking for: You like serious, smart and determined people. You don’t judge a book by its cover, so good-looking people aren’t necessarily your style. Let’s just say that if I want to be the next J.K Rowling,  I would need to define my idealistic vision first. So let’s jot down the list: world without war… greener environment.. and oh why of course, Dokodemo door. Yes, that would be ideal.

So let’s see… my previous post was on Jan 28. That was on the 3rd-4th week of my Winter Quarter that I really cheerish. And the reason is just like most of you already know: that was my last quarter! Indeed, I’ve graduated, and I can proudly put B.S.CSE behind my name. Thank you everyone, I know that without all your supports I wouldn’t be able to achieve it. God, up there, you know that you’re behind all of this, so just to let you know: Yes, I still remember you! A Zillion of thanks for you Mr. J!

Anyways, my parents were here with me during the awesome graduation weekend and 2 weeks after that. We had a roadtrip to Niagara Falls and New York. Niagara Falls is still amazing as ever (been there in the past), even though when I came there most of the water was still frozen. While for New York… well, let’s just say that I have a mix feeling about the city. Some parts of New York are simply majestic – beautiful – phenomenal (especially the chinatown food? hehehe..) !! But most of the other part are sadly untaken care of… The subway station… man, Singapore MRT and European transit systems are wayyyyyyyyyy better than what New York can offer….

Ok ok, enough with my rambling. Praise the Lord, I am now working… still in Columbus… not Austin… (hi Vidi! Go bucks!). Life… is different now.. No more sad homework, no more of those dreaded early morning recitation class, no more final and no more juggling through crazy schedule. Everyday is pretty much the same day now.. except maybe Friday, where everything seems move a tad bit faster ;)

Hmmm, let’s see… I guess that’s all the update I have.. Let’s hope that my next post is not 4 months from now.. Ciao! lazily walking back to my lurk cave

Uhm, I dunno what else to write now, so I’m putting my journey here, for those who care to read.. I will try to always keep this updated, but of course it depends on internet connection.

12.08.2007 02:35 pm EST Columbus, OH Departing from Columbus using Delta Airlines. It is a 2 hour flight, which I think I slept for 90% of the time. I was so tired that I already fell asleep when it was taking off, woke up only when they serve drink and snack (Nip Chee, a cracker made from REAL CHEDDAR CHEESE!), and continue my slumber until everyone suddenly rose up from their seat (yes, the plane is already landing).

12.08.2007 07:45 pm PT Los Angeles, CA Met Riza and the Cathay gang, we had dinner together on the cafetaria. Got rice curry for $7.55, the taste is just ok… next time I guess I’ll just go with McDonalds.

12.08.2007 08:10 pm PT Los Angeles, CA Met Erwin, line up for our boarding pass and went downstair for the special registration procedure. We had to wait for about 25 minutes, but there were no question asked. Now about the long haul flight to Taipei, Erwin was not kidding when he said that China Airline’s plane is good. Compared to Cathay, the personal entertainment and seating layout are definitely better, the service quality is about the same, the only thing that I’m complaining is the fact that I didn’t bring toothbrush ‘coz usually they provide it in the lavatories.. there weren’t any. Erwin asked the flight attendant, but she never come back. I watched The Transformers, Superbad, Johny Andrean biography, The Simpsons Movie, and an episode of TV Champions about cake. Oh one more thing, there’s power port on almost every seat, so you can use your laptop on the plane easily: no adapter needed!

12.09.2007 05:45 am NST Taipei, Taiwan My first time in Taipei :) The airport is quite modern, if you compare it to airport in Indonesia. But they are still wayyyy behind the likes of HKIA, Changi, Schiphol, and Narita. Tried to call an old friend who is now in Taiwan, but I can’t find the free phone that she mentioned a couple of time in the past. Yep, i’m that cheap. gets bricked Anyways, I bought myself a plate of ‘rice beef’, which seriously, they should name it ‘rice curry beef’ instead. They taste pretty good, cannot beat my goood ol’ (instant) Golden Curry, but it is definitely better than the one I ate at LAX. It costs me NT$250, the same price as what Erwin got – a bowl of beef noodle. I think his noodle greatly resembles mie tite (pork noodle with shrimp, it’s one of Semarang’s local delicate – and of course, it’s not halal), but I happen to hate mie tite, so that’s the conclusion.

12.10.2007 01:50 pm WIB Jakarta, Indonesia I’m sweating like a pig! The imigration was – just as I expected – very loose. I didn’t get check for anything, it’s not like they should have check my baggage, they won’t find anything, but nobody was checked! My flight to Semarang is at 510, so I have to wait for like 3 hours. The flight got delayed for a good hour, so long story short, I finally step on Ahmad Yani International Airport (yes, INTERNATIONAL airport, we have flight to Singapore, so it’s international!) at around 7:10 pm. Home sweet home. Mosquitos, ants, traffic jam, fooooodddd, slow internet, just bring ‘em all~!!

Thank you everyone for all the sms-es, poke, wall-post, testimonials, phone calls, gifts, baloon (?) and of course the surprise party. You guys are awesome! Owh, and btw, I know that the bacardi’s effect to me was a little bit shocking, but no worry – I wasn’t drunk or anything. It just me and my “excellent blood flow” excuse excuse :p

I dunno what else to write now, so I think I’m just going to paste this lovely poem that I read yesterday. How should I fill the rest of my dash?

The Dash by Linda Ellis I read of a man who stood to speak, at the funeral of a friend. He referred to the dates on her tombstone from the beginning … to the end. He noted that first came the date of her birth and spoke of the following date with tears, but he said what mattered most of all was the dash between those years. For that dash represents all the time that she spent alive on earth … and now only those who loved her know what that little line is worth. For it matters not, how much we own; the cars … the house … the cash. What matters is how we live and love and how we spend our dash. So think about this long and hard … are there things you’d like to change? For you never know how much time is left. You could be at “dash mid-range.” If we could just slow down enough to consider what’s true and real, and always try to understand the way other people feel. And be less quick to anger, and show appreciation more and love the people in our lives like we never loved before. If we treat each other with respect, and more often wear a smile … remembering that this special dash might only last a while. So, when your eulogy’s being read with your life’s actions to rehash … will you be proud of the things they say about how you spent your dash?
